Beakfast of Champions...
I never have a lot of time for breakfast but luckily for me, I don't need a lot of time, and neither do you! here's what I'm having right now:

Tip: It's better to eat all of your carbs during the early part of the day so that you have longer to burn them off throughout the day! Right now I'm doing a low glycemic diet which basically means no simple carbs (bad carbs) at all, only certain fruit, veggies, lean protien, and nuts...(but I'll give you the full rundown on that diet a little later today.) If you want to lose weight but are not used to eating breakfast, well, get used to it!! Start off small and your body will start to expect and crave food in the morning. You can do it, you can eat healthfully! Remember: Small changes make a big difference!

Winter greens on a summer day!
It's practically July and I can hear the rain pouring outside from where im sitting in my room, not that I'm complaining---I LOVE the rain. Just got back from the gym which was an accomplishment in itself since all I wanted to do today was curl up on the couch and catch up on my recorded favorites. I had forgot my wallet at home so I couldn't stop on the way home at my favorite store for lunch time salads, Zanottos. As I rummaged through the fridge I tried to find things that wouldn't negate my workout but I didn't see much for recreating the salad I usually make at "The Z" as I like to call it. About 2 seconds later, I spotted a few little ripe cherry tomatos in the bay window over our kitchen sink that my mom had left there and remebered that we've got a whole garden  of salad fixins. duh! Swiss chard, red leaf lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, and chives, basil. Yum!

I added some chicken for protien and Viola!Only took a few minutes to saute and I was very satisfied by my efforts and the fact that I saved about $6 on lunch!

Ok. So, I must spill about my new obsession with this book:
I'm currently going through the audio version and I'm absolutely addicted to learning about the brain-body connection. Dr. Amen makes brain surgery seem like child's play in this easy to read (or listen to) wealth of knowledge that could change the way you think about thinking...and eating! The best part: check it out for FREE at your local library! I got mine from the Santa Clara County Library in Saratoga. And, by the way, the library is my new best friend!
